Giampietro Maggi was born in Milan in 1934. He completed his studies at the Brera Academy where he graduated from high school. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions gaining numerous awards including: the Premio Ambrogino d’Oro of the City of Milan, the St. Barnabas Award, the Marco d’Agrate Award, the International Award of the city of Geneva as well as the Madonnina International Prize. In 1976, he was made Knight of the Italian Republic for his artistic merit.
During his career, he has held exhibitions in the museums and halls of major Italian and foreign galleries.
